v1.1.0

25 October 2026

Nine new calculators across savings, income and tax, and budgeting and debt — taking the site from three mortgage calculators to twelve, in four categories.

Formal release notes begin with this version. 24/7 UK Mortgage Calculator already provided free repayment, overpayment and affordability calculators, plus a mortgage rates guide, before this point — this is simply where we started keeping a public record of changes.

v1.1.0

The site grows from a set of mortgage tools into a library of twelve free UK money calculators in four categories. The three mortgage calculators are unchanged.

  • Savings Growth Calculator — Projects a savings balance from a starting amount, monthly deposits and an AER, with deposits at the start or end of each month. Shows the final balance, what you pay in, interest earned, a growth chart and a year-by-year table. Interest compounds monthly at the rate equivalent to the AER.
  • Savings Goal Calculator — Works out the monthly saving needed to reach a target by a chosen date, allowing for interest. Handles goals already reached or reachable through interest alone, compares the monthly amount across interest rates, and shows a year-by-year timeline.
  • Fixed-Rate Savings Calculator — Estimates the interest and maturity value of a fixed-term deposit for interest paid monthly, annually or at maturity, either added to the bond or paid to another account, with a side-by-side comparison of all five arrangements and a payment-by-payment breakdown.
  • UK Take-Home Pay Calculator — Estimates take-home pay after Income Tax, employee National Insurance, pension and student loan deductions for the 2026/27 and 2025/26 tax years, using HMRC’s published thresholds. Supports Scottish rates, the Personal Allowance taper above £100,000, common tax codes (including BR, 0T, D0, D1 and NT), net pay, relief at source and salary sacrifice pensions, Plans 1, 2, 4 and 5, and Postgraduate Loans.
  • Salary Increase Calculator — Shows how much of a pay rise you’d keep, entered as a percentage or a new salary, with a deduction-by-deduction before-and-after table and notes when a rise crosses a tax or student loan threshold. Uses the same calculation engine as the Take-Home Pay Calculator.
  • Hourly Wage to Salary Calculator — Converts an hourly rate into weekly, monthly and annual gross pay, with paid weeks per year, optional overtime and a National Living Wage check. Links through to the Take-Home Pay Calculator with the annual figure filled in.
  • Monthly Budget Calculator — Editable income, spending and savings lines, each with its own frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly). Shows totals, money left over or the shortfall, savings rate, a breakdown by line and annual figures. Nothing entered is stored or sent.
  • Debt Repayment Calculator — Works out the payoff date, number of payments, total interest and final payment for a single debt, and what an extra monthly payment would save. Payments that don’t cover the interest are flagged with workable alternatives instead of an endless schedule.
  • Debt Snowball vs Avalanche Calculator — Compares paying several debts smallest-balance-first and highest-rate-first with the same monthly budget, including debt-free dates, total interest, payoff order, a chart of total debt over time and a month-by-month plan for each strategy.
  • Homepage — Calculators are now grouped into four categories — Mortgage Calculators, Savings & Interest, Income & Tax, and Budgeting & Debt — each with a small outline icon and a row of calculator cards with real screenshot previews. The introduction now describes the wider library.
  • Navigation — The menu on every page lists all four calculator categories alongside Articles, and highlights the page you’re on.
  • Privacy & cookies and Terms of use — Updated to cover the whole calculator library, including how the savings, tax, budgeting and debt calculations work, which tax years are supported and where the figures come from. Figures you enter are never added to page addresses: when one calculator hands a figure to another, it stays in your browser tab.
  • Calculation accuracy — Shared calculation modules for savings, UK tax, pay, budgeting and debt, covered by automated tests, so related calculators always use the same rules.

v1.0.0

The complete site as it stands today: three free mortgage calculators, one in-depth guide, and the homepage and policy pages that tie them together.

  • Repayment Calculator — Works out your monthly repayment, total amount repaid, total interest and loan-to-value from your property value, deposit, interest rate and term. Shows your balance at five milestone years plus a payoff summary, a full year-by-year repayment schedule that expands into a month-by-month breakdown, and a CSV download of the whole schedule.
  • Overpayment Calculator — Shows what overpaying could do to your mortgage, three ways: find out when you'd be mortgage-free at your current payment, see what a monthly, lump-sum or combined overpayment would save, or work backwards from a target mortgage-free date to the extra payment needed. Compares your current plan against the new one side by side, including interest and time saved.
  • Affordability Calculator — An indicative estimate of how much you could borrow, based on your income (and a second applicant's income, if relevant), deposit, and an illustrative interest rate and term. Shows three scenarios at different income multiples (4×, 4.5×, 5×) with estimated borrowing, an indicative property budget and monthly repayment for each — a rough guide, not a lending decision.
  • Mortgage Repayments at Different Interest Rates — Compares monthly repayments and total interest on a £200,000, 25-year mortgage at 3–7% interest, and how mortgage size changes the picture at a fixed rate. Includes UK house-price context, an explanation of why rate rises cost more than people expect, fixed vs. tracker/variable background, an FAQ and sourced references.
  • Homepage — A directory linking to every calculator and article, grouped by type, with a preview of each calculator.
  • Privacy & cookies and Terms of use — The site's data/cookie policy and terms of use.
